The fuller story

Grown by hand, pressed alive

[ founder photo ]

Most spirulina you've had was dried months ago, maybe longer, and shipped from somewhere far away. Ours isn't.

I've been growing spirulina for two years, and refined the way I press it working with growers in France who'd been perfecting it far longer than I had. My background's actually in cell biology, which is probably why I care this much about what happens to a living thing when you dry it versus when you don't.

I get it to you within a day or two of harvest, never dried, never sitting on a shelf. I started growing this because I wanted to eat it the way it's meant to be eaten. Once I tasted it fresh, I couldn't go back, and I wanted other people to have the chance to feel that too.

Why fresh, not dried

Dried spirulina tastes like what it is: processed, stored, shelf-stable. Ours doesn't. Pressed fresh in small batches, it tastes alive, and it feels different too. This isn't a subtle upgrade; it's a different food entirely.

A few things worth knowing

01
Older than trees. Spirulina's lineage goes back roughly 3 billion years, long before the first tree ever grew.
02
One of the most water-efficient foods there is. It produces far more usable protein per gallon of water than most animal-based protein sources.
03
Unusually pigment-dense. Ounce for ounce, it holds one of the highest concentrations of natural pigment of any food, which also makes it a strong source of antioxidants.
04
No tough cell wall, unlike kale, spinach, or wheatgrass, so your body can access its nutrients directly, without breaking down fiber first.
"I've eaten a lot of things that were supposed to make me feel good. This is the first one that actually did. Noticeably, immediately, every time."

How it works

1

Reserve

Pick your plan length and reserve your spot. Production is limited by what we can actually harvest each week.

2

Harvest

We harvest and press your share fresh, in small batches, usually within a day or two of your pickup.

3

Pickup

Grab your jar from whichever zone works best for you, regardless of which one's closest to home.

4

Enjoy

A spoonful in a smoothie, juice, or straight. Repeat weekly for the length of your plan.

Questions, answered

Pressed and shipped within 1 to 2 days of harvest, never dried.

No. Each plan (6, 12, or 18 weeks) is a commitment for its full length. This isn't a casual trial; it's meant for people who are in.

No. When your 6, 12, or 18 weeks are up, that's the end of it. Nothing recharges on its own. If you want to keep going, you sign up again.

Not exactly. Like a CSA, you're supporting a small local harvest, but unlike a traditional CSA, your weekly amount is fixed no matter how the harvest yields, so you always know exactly what you're getting.

Alongside your jar, we grow other things worth eating: purslane, wild greens, teas, tinctures, microgreens. Each week a different one is available as an add-on for $10. You choose how many weeks you'd like one when you check out, and it comes with those deliveries.

Keep it refrigerated and use it within about a week, which is roughly when your next jar arrives. Most people take a spoonful first thing in the morning. In a smoothie, juice, or straight is plenty. Every subscriber also gets a free guide to using it well.

Two options. You can grab it from a different pickup zone that same week, or we'll give you two jars the following week. Just let us know.

Spirulina is a food, not a medicine, but we're growers rather than clinicians. If you're pregnant or nursing, buying for a child, or managing a health condition, talk to your doctor before adding it to your routine.

We use pickup rather than delivery on purpose. It's what lets your spirulina reach you within a day or two of harvest instead of sitting in transit. Pickup zones: Sedona, Cottonwood, Cornville, Camp Verde, and Rimrock. You can pick whichever zone works best for you, even if it's not the one closest to home.
